This is not photoshoped. The fluid density affects the angle of reflection of light, and physics students know that. If you want to see a live demo of this illusion, put a spoon in a transparent glass of water such that half of the spoon is in the air and half in water. Then see the glass from sideways, you'll notice that the spoon looks bended or broken.
