Human eyes contain a blind spot. The brain fills in with surrounding detail and with information from the other eye.
Here's how you see the blind spot:
Close your left eye and look at the cross while slowly moving towards the screen.
The black circle disappears when light rays from it fall on the place where the optic nerve enters the retina - commonly referred to as your "blind spot".
