Much-loved Goldfish Undergoes Brain Tumor Surgery

George, the Goldfish, survived a large brain tumor removal and got life by the hands of a medical messianic Dr.Lort Smith and his team who carefully removed the tumor in a 45 minutes surgery at Lord Smith animal hospital.

A tube was ran from maintenance bucket that contained oxygenated water and a dose of anesthetic, into George’s mouth. The bleeding, meanwhile, was controlled by a sponge. It all went swimmingly – and the 10-year-old goldfish is expected to live for another 20 years. [via treehugger]
