Oymyakon, A Village where People Live at -51 Celsius
This little town, named Oymyakon, is located in northern Siberia and holds the record for the coldest town on earth with temperature as low as -71.2 Celsius. It takes about 3 hour drive on frozen and deserted roads to reach this village from the nearest city of Yakutsk. It’s famous about Oymyakon that birds freeze to death in mid flight very often, yet people manage to survive and live a life here. If the temperature is above 50 Celsius, it’s considered as normal and if it goes below that; they call it winter and close the schools. Let’s take a look at the life at Oymyakon:
